A little history: the Dineen Building
Dineen Coffee Co. occupies the ground floor of the 1897 Dineen Building, built as the W. & D. Dineen hat and fur company's flagship shop. The restoration kept the original columns, tin ceilings and curved glass corner, which is why this is downtown's most photographed cafe. Queen subway station's entrance is steps from the door.
