The Hornblower is the famous cruise that takes you deep into the heart of the Niagara waterfalls! It is operated by “Niagara City Cruises”. You might know it by it’s old name, the “Maid of the Mist”. In the USA, their boat cruise is still called the “Maid of the Mist”. You can spot the difference because the Canadian boats have red ponchos, and the USA boats have blue ponchos.
This is the most popular attraction in Niagara Falls. It is available from around April to December, depending on when the weather warms up. It is a 20-minute boat cruise that takes you alongside the American and Bridal Veil Falls, and right in to the heart of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The entire experience will take about 1 to 1.5 hours including boarding and making it back to the starting point.
If you’re looking for maximum fun and don’t mind getting a bit wet, you can join from the upper deck. If you want some shelter from the water you can stay on the lower deck and still enjoy the beauty of the falls. But of course, we suggest going to the top deck – a bit of wetness is a small price to pay for the INCREDIBLE experience you are going to have!
The boat cruise can be added to your tour when booking or on the day of your trip. Plus, you’ll have access to skip-the-line tickets through your tour guide.
The boat cruise costs around $40 per ticket. PRO TIP: Wait until you board to put the poncho on so you aren’t sweating waiting for the boat to take off!
